The Resurrection, The Single Most Important Event In Human History.

The struggle between good and evil has raged since the beginning of time. Right vs wrong, light vs darkness, God vs Satan. What appeared to be an eternal struggle soon came to a climax that would decide whether the forces of good would conquer evil, or whether the darkness would quench the light. This climax came on Passover when a certain man was hung on a cross. This man was Jesus Christ.

At first glance it appeared that Satan had won. After all, the Son of God was killed and buried in a tomb. No one has been able to raise themselves from the dead, clearly death has overcome life. But God had different plans. Satan was the cause of humanity's demise but Satan was also the cause of humanity's salvation in a sense. Satan ensured that Christ was hung on that cross, his hand can be clearly seen when orchestrating the actions of the religious and political leaders of that day. But he was unaware that Christ's death would be the beginning of the end for him. For the power that Satan wielded was sin. That is how he controlled humanity and how he drew people away from God. But little did he know, that by crucifying Jesus, he just crucified himself in the process. Christ's death paid the price for our sin thus freeing all sinners from Satan's chains as long as they put their faith in him.

But Christ's death was not the climax of the struggle between good and evil. No, that was still to come, in 3 short days. Christ may have paid the price for humanity's sin, but death still held Christ in the tomb. That is, until Easter Sunday. Christ arose victorious over his final enemy and Satan's last pawn, death. Satan threw everything at Christ but God was able to use his futile efforts to achieve victory!

Christ is alive! Life triumphed over death. Good arose victorious over evil. The light blinded the darkness. The resurrection is the single most important event in human history. It bridged the gap between God and man, it set afire the flame of hope for life everlasting, and it stripped Satan of his power by cleansing the stain of sin.

The forces of evil will try to snuff out the spreading of the good news of the resurrection. But their efforts are in vain as their fate is sealed for all of eternity. Let us rejoice in the promise of everlasting life because of Christ's resurrection. But let us also become bold proclaimers of the truth and ensure that all people know that the God of the Bible is not dead, he is alive and wanting a relationship with all those who he has created.
